ClearCut is a free background remover at clearcutremover.com. This page explains what happens to your images and data.

Your images stay on your device

Background removal runs entirely in your browser using on-device AI (WebAssembly / WebGPU). When you choose a photo, it is processed locally. We do not upload your images to our servers, and we do not send them to a third-party API.

The finished file is saved only if you click Download — and that save goes to your own computer or phone.

No accounts, no cookies for tracking

ClearCut has no sign-up and no user accounts. This site does not set advertising or analytics cookies. We do not build a profile of you.

What a host can see

Like any website, the server or CDN that delivers this static page may log standard request data (for example IP address, browser type, and the page you asked for) so the site can load and stay secure. Those logs are not used to identify you for marketing, and they do not include your photos.

Third-party code

The app loads fonts from Google Fonts and uses the open-source @imgly/background-removal library. Model files needed for removal are fetched by your browser and run locally. Your photos are not sent to those vendors as part of processing.

Children

This tool is a general-purpose image editor. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

License and source

ClearCut is released under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 or later. The source is on GitHub.
