Our Mission

ClearCut was built with a simple goal: to eliminate paywalls, watermarks, resolution limits, and privacy compromises from online background removal tools. Most existing web tools send your personal photos to remote cloud servers, compress your output resolution unless you pay a subscription, or stamp your images with intrusive watermarks.

ClearCut changes that by performing 100% of image processing directly inside your browser using WebAssembly and WebGPU neural network runtimes. Your photos never leave your device.

How It Works Under the Hood

ClearCut utilizes advanced deep learning segmentation models compiled into ONNX format and executed locally in Javascript via WebAssembly. When you upload a photo, your local CPU or GPU identifies the main subject and calculates precise alpha matte masks in real time without sending bytes over the internet.
